PCDT DRESS CODE
The following guidelines apply to all dancers:

LONG HAIR must be securely tied back in a ponytail, braid, or bun. Short hair should be off the neck and face.

DO NOT WEAR YOUR DANCE SHOES OUTSIDE. You will not only ruin your shoes, but our dance floors could be damaged as well.

NO jewelry is to be worn in class. Not only is it a distraction, it dangerous and items can be lost. Post/Stud earrings are acceptable.

Please label all shoes and other related dance items with your/ your dancer’s name so lost items may be returned. PCDT is not responsible for lost items.

PLEASE COME TO CLASS READY TO DANCE, with proper cover-ups on when entering and exiting!
Pre-Ballet
-
Pink leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet/pointe shoes must be worn.

Hair must be secured in a bun at all times. Short hair must be pulled away from the face and neck.

A ballet skirt may be worn.

Shoes should have drawstring knotted and cut.
Ballet/Pointe

Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet/pointe shoes must be worn.

Hair must be secured in a bun at all times. Short hair must be pulled away from the face and neck.

A ballet skirt may be worn for center work.
-
Adult dancers only may wear Black tights and skirt at the barre.
Tap/Jazz/Lyrical/ Modern/Musical Theatre

Leotard and tights or jazz pants/ leggings/shorts and fitted top. Dance shorts must go to midthigh or tights should also be worn.

Appropriate shoes for genre (PLEASE NOTE: A SPECIFIC COLOR AND STYLE OF SHOE MAY BE REQUIRED FOR PERFORMANCE)

Jazz/Musical Classes: Jazz slip on or oxford (Women may be asked to wear character shoes for some Musical Theatre Classes).

Tap Classes: any color tap shoes are acceptable for class.

Lyrical Classes: half soles or dance paws.

Modern classes: Barefoot.
Hip Hop

Leotard, jazz pants/leggings/shorts (dance shorts must go to midthigh or tights should also be worn). Loose baggy pants and shirts are appropriate for this genre.

Legs must be covered. Tights are strongly encouraged.

Dance sneakers or boots. (PLEASE NOTE: A SPECIFIC COLOR AND STYLE OF SHOE MAY BE REQUIRED FOR PERFORMANCE)
Tumbling
-
Leotard with leggings or tights or unitard.

No baggy items as it makes spotting tricks difficult.

Bare feet.
Aerial Arts
-
Leotard or tight- fitting top with leggings or unitard. (long sleeves are preferred)

No baggy items as it makes spotting tricks difficult and may wrap up in silks.

Bare feet.
Boys/Men Ballet
-
Solid white or black t-shirt or tank top, black tights or shorts, white or black socks.

Dance Belt
-
Black or white ballet shoes.

Long hair should be secured.
Boys/Men Jazz/Tap/Lyrical/Modern/Musical Theatre/Aerial

T-shirt or tank top, Shorts, dance or sweatpants. Dance Belt
